Michelle Boudria exudes a joy in life and in caring for her patients and it shows in everything she does. Born the 6th of 7 children outside of Chicago, IL, she learned early what taking care of others means. Helping her patients live their best life while navigating chronic health issues is both a passion and a calling for Michelle that merges her 2 loves: science and people.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from state University of New York in 1994, she decided to become a Texan and went on to pursue her Masters of Nursing, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006. Michelle is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC). She has multiple professional affiliations including American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Kidney Foundation and Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing.
In her professional career she has organized and directed a team of nurses to ensure critically ill patients received an exceptional level of care, she has delivered training, coaching and mentorship to other nurses on clinic protocols, patient communication and relationship building. She has developed and chaired patient centered Chronic Kidney Disease and Anemia Clinics among other educational programs to help her patients learn how to slow the progress of their kidney disease.
When not caring for our patients and staff, Michelle loves to cook. Always working with new recipes using fresh herbs and vegetables from her garden, she and her husband enjoy entertaining friends with everything from making pasta to homemade sushi. While you will not find her at a karaoke bar, her kitchen is always filled with the awesome music of the 70’s with Michelle singing center stage (or an occasional backup).
Michelle is an invaluable resource for our internal staff, physicians, specialists, social workers, educators and most importantly, our patients and their families.
